The accommodation at the Talbot Inn, Much Wenlock is located in the rear courtyard, and is in the converted Malthouse from our old wenlock brewery days dating back to 1762. The Inn's Malthouse dates back to 1762, and is one of just three left in the town. Publicans malted barley and brewed their own beer here until the middle of the 19th Century. Tanning, another important trade in the town at the time, was also carried out at this location.

In keeping with the character of the setting, the Malthouse has been sympathetically converted to provide six attractively appointed bedrooms. All rooms have en-suite bathroom, television, telephone/modem connection, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities.

Guests can enjoy a full English Breakfast overlooking the Courtyard, or relax in the quiet Residents Lounge where there is plenty to read. All rooms are non-smoking. There are also 2 further rooms located adjacent to The Malthouse, behind the pub.

There is ample car parking space at the rear of The Talbot. It is regretted that pets are not allowed at the Inn...Unless you have a "Talbot Hound".

What is a "Talbot"?: The Talbot Hound is an extinct snow white hunting dog originating in Normandy and used and developed in Great Britain. It had a keen smell and was of such large stature that it was rumored of being capable of bringing down a white stag in the midst of winter, though there are no records of this.
The term "talbot" is used in heraldry to refer to a good mannered hunting dog

So if you have one...you are in the wrong century! (Thank you www.Wikipedia.org)
